Pegasus Speaks is my online journal. It details my travels back “home,” wherever that may be.

Like me, it is a work in progress.

Centered around describing my journey as we – Roan, Pegasus, Toad (Honda CR-V) and I – travel across the United States, the blog will also cover other topics including what made me decide to sell my house, close my consulting business in the D.C. area, buy a 41-foot long 2002 Newmar Dutch Star diesel pusher, leave my home and friends of 25 years, and travel for a year or three or five or…

In addition, I will post original poems, digital designs, photographs, and other items that pique my interest, and hopefully yours as well.

Thank you for coming along for the ride.

Please comment often.  Company always makes the journey faster.

With Love and Thanks.

  1. Never knew you had a graphic on the back of your coach. Guess that’s because I never looked back there!

    Safe travels,

    1. Yes, it’s Pegasus, the name of my rig. 🙂 I commissioned a graphic artist to design it for me. Isn’t it cool?

  2. When I chucked the conventional life, and all possessions I couldn’t carry in my Jeep, in May 2000, people thought me mad and told me so. I assured them my escape was only for a year, perhaps two. Almost 15 years later, I have no desire to return.

As the old saying goes, “Wherever you go, there you are.” I put special emphasis upon “YOU.” The geographical cure, taken in terms of endless travel, in my view, fails to satisfy. It is possible, however, to identify the conditions you want in your daily life and make a checklist to determine those you have and those you must yet find. As an example, I must have a pretty view upon which to gaze as the sun rises each morning. Pretty simple, yet it keeps me from living in cities where buildings block the sky. Each of us, of course, has our own set.

Is the quest worth it? Well, as my late father was fond of saying: “You’re dead a long time.”

I enjoyed reading about your quest. Happy hunting and let me know what you discover. Buena suerte.

  3. You’ve got an interesting site Liz, enjoyed getting caught up on your journey. I keep telling myself I don’t want to be a tourist, but I’m too damn curious about everything not to be. If “it’s” there, whatever it is, I’m compelled to stop or detour to check it out.

Travel safe and immerse yourself in the journey…..

    1. Thanks for the comment Denny. Nice to meet you and Sequel!

I looked at your blog. I LOVE the quote on your About page:

“If one advances confidently in the direction of his/her dreams, and endeavors to live the Life which he/she has imagined, he/she will meet with a success unexpected in common hours… Why should we be in such desperate haste to succeed, and in such desperate enterprises? If a man/woman does not keep pace with his/her companions, perhaps it is because he/she hears a different drummer. Let him/her step to the music which he/she hears, however measured or far away”
      ~ Henry David Thoreau ~

      Journey on my friend!
